Emotional exhaustion is the state of excessive consumption of emotional resource that results from requirements of interpersonal work. Individual always fell frustration and sense of failure after entering a state of emotional exhaustion, which leads to decline in the organizational efficiency and effectiveness, therefore, how to transcend or overcome the emotional exhaustion, will be great significance for the long-term development of enterprises. This study aims to explore the structure of the emotional exhaustion of grass-roots employees from State-owned Enterprises and establish the enterprise scale of emotional exhaustion, then explore the characteristics of employees in the state of emotional exhaustion and the relationship between the characteristics and social support,coping styles were discussed.In this study, one emotional questionnaires (researcher developed), social support rating scale (revised by Xiao Shuiyuan) and questionnaire responses rating scale (Xiao Jihua) are adopted as the research tools. This questionnaire was developed through a precise process. It was based on a broadly review of relevant literatures and experts consultation. With the help of Software SPSS 11.0, the item analysis and the exploratory factor analysis was taken to modify the questionnaire. After the examination of Cronbachαcoefficient, a formal questionnaire was accomplishment. Through data analysis, the formal questionnaire is proved with good reliability and validity.This study takes the characteristics of emotional exhaustion of grass-roots staff to explore that: male employees in terms of emotional exhaustion in general, or from the experience, cognitive and performance are serious than female employees; in all age groups have different levels of emotional exhaustion, but the score of emotional exhaustion is the highest between the 31-year-old to 40 year-old employee; In addition, higher the education, higher the levels of emotional exhaustion.This study take the relationship between the emotional exhaustion of the grass-roots staff and social support, coping style to explore that,①the relationship between the emotional exhaustion of grass-roots staff and social support with coping style is close. There is a negative correlation between the experience of exhaustion, cognitive and performance with social support of subscale and positive coping styles, and be positive correlation with negative coping styles.②the level of social support in emotional exhaustion and coping style on the different dimensions exist significant differences. The staff with high social support tends to use active coping styles, which help to alleviate emotional exhaustion; the staff with low social support tends to use negative coping style, which leads the emotional exhaustion heavier.③It is found that coping style and emotional exhaustion is correlation from the correlation analysis between them; issues point to the positive response helps to alleviate the emotional exhaustion, emotional point to negative coping styles will increase the emotional exhaustion and cognitive and experience, but the depletion of performance before the impact, but it is not affected on the exhaustion performance.In conclusion, this study uses multi-methods, different perspectives to investigate and verify the scientific of grass-roots staff's emotional exhaustion structure, the following-up research can use the results of this study to intervene emotional exhaustion of grass-roots employee.
