| The fall of Wuhan lasted for 7 years since the Japanese invaded it on October 25, 1938.For the long-term occupation and eliminating the citizens' anti-Japanese thought, promoting the ideas of "Sino-Japanese friendly" and""East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere", the Japanese army had done a great deal of"post-gun work",including " ideological war " "cultural war" and "propaganda war",in order to get the Chinese given up the idea of nation and be obedient citizens.This article intends to make a comprehensive and systematic study of the enslaving education during the fall basing on the previous studies and some relating datum.The study will start from the "post-gun work".Its method is the combination of regional and collective means.The Wang Government was built up based on the surport of Japanese.So the education was serving for the invasion and its persistent claim is " pro-Japanese "and "anti-communist".The puppet government,whether the puppet Wuhan security party or the puppet special city government or the puppet Hankou municipal government,all take the "Sino-Japanese friendly" and "East Asia Co-Prosperity" as the core of their work, striving for boosting the enslaving education.The Wuhan puppet government established some different educational executive agencies at some stages,for example,education section of the puppet Wuhan security party,education bureau of the special city government,education bureau of the Hankou municipal government,education section of the Hankou special municipal government etc.Although these educational institutions have different departments,they all bear the same functions of enslaving the people of Wuhan.For having these educational administrative institutions,the Japanese could go behind the stage and carry out remote controls,avoiding the direct conflict with the Wuhan citizens and ruling Chinese by themselves.The puppet Wang government take some actions to recover or establish primary and secondary educations,registering and training teachers,trying their best to popularize Japanese,bowdlerizing books,sending students abroad to Japan and receiving USA or English students.For Chinese adults,the Japanese enslaved them by controlling the media,the establishment of a traitor and cultural groups,modificating play,creating public education hall and setting up the HuaZhong Christian Party.Generally speaking,what enslaving education focused on and served for was invading war,therefore,it was compelled.However,in order to get people's sense of identification,most of enslaving educations had the features of hiding and regularity, even offering the so-called idea of "respecting Confucianism and restoring ancient ways". During seven years of ruling,although the Wuhan puppet government established a enslaving education system to gain the sense of identify and amicability from ruled Chinese.The enslaving education was doomed to end up with failure just because of the injustice of the war,the cooperation between the CCP and the KMT,the fighting of people in occupied areas. |
