The cultural transit of cultural research emerges in 1990s, and is likely to take the place of traditional literature. Cultural transit gives different judgments and theoretical pursuit to the boundary of literary research and literature nature, and incorporates some non-literary arts forms, so the differences between literature and non-literature become vague. This thesis aims at investigating and clearing essence outlook of literature in the current cultural transition in order to put it into the course of the general structure and logical development of literary theirs in the new age and recall and reflect the success and failure of the cultural transition of literature.To some degree the modern cultural transition enlarges the traditional boundary of literature theory. It not only pursuits literature theory's explanation to existing cultural phenomenon but also attaches importance of the feasibility and effectiveness of literature. However, cultural criticism is originally very overthrowing. If literature theory transits subject boundary into cultural criticism, shifts its focus onto daily life aesthetics, takes cultural criticism as the end of the transition of literature theory, and even bestow ontological status onto subjects to respond to time challenge, will it be a success? "Cultural research never aims at explaining everything from a cultural view; instead, it tries to use every necessary and usable mind and theory resource to interpret culture" (Grossberg, Communication of Culture). Cultural research study culture phenomenon through cultural arts and understands literature as closely related to social culture. Literature is the symbol of culture so definitely is of deep cultural connotation and corrects the so-called inner research emphasizing the social and historic features of literature. At present cultural research has become an important subject with an obvious theoretical advantage, but it is not of no flaw. To go deep into the aesthetic quality of literature is hard for it, and it has the possible to shift its focus only on social and cultural problems, which is a big challenge to literature.The thesis falls into three parts. The first part is an introduction to the emerging of cultural research in China. The first section introduces the western theoretical origins influencing the literature transit in the new age, recalls the cultural research development in Chinese theoretical field in 19980s, and investigates the process of cultural research turning from a bud to an academic main flow. The second section analyzes the background in which cultural research emerged in Chinese literary field, and shows the necessity of literature from an angel of inner development of literature. The third section tells the limits of Chinese traditional literary theories are the major reasons of cultural research transit. The second chapter is about the major situation of literature nature research in modern Chinese theoretical circle. It includes three schools. Some scholars advocate orienting cultural research which focuses on daily life aesthetics and dissolves literature nature; directed at this, some students put forward cultural poetry idea, pay attention to the aesthetic nature of literature and arts and channel the nature of literature into aesthetic ideology; other scholars stand in an attached position and carry out cool analysis of the current situation of cultural research, thinking that we should beat the trend of van-cultural research of literary theories and incorporate cultural research into Marxist the whole literary theory and take a compressive research method. The third chapter is about the edification and reflection of literary transit to literature nature. First it analyzes the relationship between cultural transit and literary subjects. Cultural research tries to kill the boundary between literature and non literature and incorporate massive culture and other social phenomenon into literary research rang, which enlarges the zone of literary subjects. The second section analyzes the literary transit in the new age, reckoning that the transits is an ever lasting exploration, and though there are many different ways, cultural research is only one important way of research, but we must not throw the rational, subject noumenon or dialectical thinking. Instead, we should grasp the changes of literature nature in the new age timely and accurately, pay attention to theoretical innovation. We must not casually ignore the essential differences between literature and non literature, turn literature to non literature. The third section discusses the development of cultural transit's understanding on literature nature, and on this premise it put forward a positive idea about the active function of cultural transit to literature nature.
