Thanks to the wide spread of advanced educational concepts and ideas and the transformation of teaching methods, English educators, who consider the teaching of English knowledge as something fundamental, have concentrated more on learners' psychological state and its influence on the learning efficiency and result. Although positive and stable learning psychology can bring about the best learning result with the least effort, there are many kinds of psychological barrier in English learning, which have a negative influence on English learning. However, how to deal with or eliminate the psychological barriers in English learning has been a problem waiting to be solved for both educators and teachers.This thesis gives a detailed description of the various manifestations of the psychological barrier in English learning, a kind of hatred for English leaning as a result of anxiety and inferiority complex as well as incorrect motivation and low interest. Meanwhile, based on the senior high school and college students, the majority of English learners in China, the reasons for these barriers are analyzed through a questionnaire concerning English learning. More important, some feasible measures are proposed and ready to be taken to solve the common problems. By the analysis of the data and questionnaire, it is concluded that only after the learners possess positive motivations and overcome anxiety and inferiority complex are they likely to transform the hatred into love for English learning. Nevertheless, this idealized learning psychology does not only depend on learners themselves but also the positive cooperation, benign communication and sentimental harmony. Furthermore, educators and teachers should be informed that overcoming psychological barriers in English learning is a dynamic process where they should be flexible in dealing with practically different situations.
