This Paper chiefly discuss the functional similarities and differences of the probably modal adverbs '也许' and '大概' from syntactic, semantic, pragmatic and cultural view in novel style. According to the view from Mr. Lu Shuxiang, adverbs also need to be classified, though its not an easy thing to deal with. Meanwhile, Mr.Lu Shuxiang offers the thinking of classifing: for open-ended words,it can be illustrated according to its category, for closed-ended words,we can illustrate it one by one.In this paper, we use the theory of statistics for reference and explore the use of cluster sampling method to study the corpus that is comprised of Lao She and Zhang Ailing's Novella and River novel. On the basis of qualitative research, we fully conduct the quantitative research. According to the writing, we strive to spread along the three levers theory of Zhang Bin,in the meantime,we reflect Statistics method, attempt to quantification study in the basis of nature study.Firstly, the paper investigates the restriction and co-occurrence on syntactic: Secondly, the paper proceeds with the basic semantic meaning of two probably modal adverbs, summarize their basic semantic characters, and seek to review their similarities and differences roundly. Thirdly, the paper analyse pragmatic functions of two probably modal adverbs .
