Objectives:To develop the Uncivil Workplace Behavior Scale which was based on the dimension of Andersson and Pearson, to carry out a pilot study in some companies, to analyze the psychometric properties of the scale.Methods:1.Establishment of the item pool:Items were selected based on the item analysis results of the discrimination index;2.Pilot study:We sampled in many kinds of companies and analyzed the data after control of sex,age which were supposed to be contributing factors;3.Reliability study:The indexes of reliability study included internal consistency reliability, split-half reliability and test-retest reliability;4.Validity study:The indexes of validity study included construct validity and criterion-related validityResults:1.Developed a Uncivil Workplace Behavior Scale which including 22 items.2.The results of items analysis show that the most of the index of item discrimination were over 0.30,the correlation between items and total score were significant.3.The reliability study show that Cronbach's a coefficient, which is an index of internal consistency reliability was 0.884,the split-half reliability coefficient was 0.867.4.The validity study sowed that Cronbach's a coefficient among four factors ranged from 0.110-0.566, Cronbach's a coefficient between four factors and the total score ranged from 0.571-0.850.5.Criterion-related validity study indicated that the correlation between the total score and MBI-GS was 0.500, the correlation between four factors and MBI-GS ranged from 0.404-0.533.Conclusion:The scale included 4 factors:Hostility, Privacy Invasion, Exclusionary Behavior, and Gossiping. The structure, reliability and validity of the scale were psychometrically acceptable.
