This article conducts the research on the "Lady Party" of Enshi Tujia nationality, Hubei Province, with a combination of local history, ethnography, the specific field survey data and other materials related to literature. By analyzing the formation and development of "Lady Party", this article indicates that "Lady Party" has the spatial characteristics and social construction function of "rural-urban" cultural identity and also affirms that "Lady Party" develops towards the right direction in the context of the intangible cultural heritage protection.It consists of six chapters, with epilogue at the end. Chapter one, the preface sketches out the history and current situation of the study of the Chinese Tujia nationality in the past fifty years. With a critical examination on the research trends, the author attempts to find a new perspective of "Lady Party" study. Chapter two, a survey of "Lady Party" circumstance, describes the spatial surroundings such as the natural environment and the geographic location. It also looks into the Tujia's history. Chapter three, a description and analysis of some folklores of "Lady Party", describes how "Lady Party" comes into being in history and develops in modernization. Chapter four, a spatial conversion of "Lady Party", compares the changes and the differences about "Lady Party" between "rural" and "urban" areas, and discovers some new culture phenomenons. Chapter five, analyses the role of "Lady Party" in community relationship construction in terms of four kinds of relationships. Chapter six, an analysis of "Lady Party" in the context of the intangible cultural heritage protection, discusses how to spread and develop it in cultural transition in a rational way.
