This thesis, by way of analyzing its ups and downs, makes a comparatively thorough probe into the attitudes, goals, methods, achievements, as well as the reasons of final failure, of the Movement for Rearranging the National Heritage. The author tries to revivify the Movement as one that is much closer to the facts and one that can stand to scrutiny. Shaking off all the prejudices whch simply and brutally review the Momvent as against the May 4th Movement, the thesis gives a relatively objective account and interpretation of its contributions and values and, at the meanwhile, makes a profound introspection into its decline, pondering over the heritage and the mission the Movement for Rearranging the National Heritage has left for us.
