Since 1970s, point-of-piew has become one of the concerns for some Linguists. We found that point-of-view is widely employed in different fields after running through the studies of Western and Chinese scholars, such as in the fields of stylistics, literature critique, functional semantics, narrotology and so on. They tentatively explore its influential force over tense-choosing and discourse-analysis (Xiong Muqing, 2001), also the relationship with persons in narrative discourses. Some scholars point out that some problems concerning point-of-view are widely discussed in the fields of Linguistics and Literature, however, the systematic explorations and analysis about it are badly needed (Zhao Xiufeng, 2006). We also found that all the studies hardly concern about the essence of the relationship between point-of-view and linguistic forms, even they could not offer the answers for the following questions: Why does a certain sort of linguistic form manifest a certain of point-of-view? How does point-of-view restrict to the selection and combination of the textual information?Concerning POV, Professor Roger Fowler has divided it into three categories: Spatio-temporal POV, Ideological POV and Psychological POV, while Professor Xiong Muqing adopted almost Roger Fowler's classifications, expanded them into four categories and redefine the concept of POV. The proposal that point-of-view in discourse holds a strong restrictive force over the comprehension of textual meaning, is put forward on the basis of the researches of Roger Fowler and Professor Xiong Muqing. Also the author will scientifically decode and vertically analyze the process that how the textual message are chosen and combined selectively by point-of-view, so that the readers will easily understand the mechanism that point-of-view restricts to the comprehension of textual meaning. So, we tentatively construct a cognitive model which can embodies the relationships among POV, Linguistic Forms, CIT and the comprehension of textual meaning.Between POV and the comprehention of textual meaning, the former has a direct restrictive force over the latter, but we illustrate this in an indirect approach. First of all, we put forward the whole relation--frame among point-of-view, linguistic forms, CIT and textual meaning. Between point-of-view and linguistic forms, we hold that linguistic forms is the most direct manifestor on point-of-view, also linguistic forms is a key connector for point-of-view and the comprehention of textual meaning, because it is not only the manifestor of point-of-view, but also is the carrier of textual meaning. Therefore, the connector"linguistic forms", the theoretical tool--Conceptual Integration Theory and the two differing news discourses concerning the same event as a case study are resorted to illustrating our thoughts.
