This thesis analyses Dong-mei Fang's life ontology philosophy separately from construction, elaborate and significance.Construction of Dong-mei Fang's life ontology philosophy: Dong-mei Fang's life ontology philosophy is in reference of Bergson's life philosophy, Whitehead's process philosophy and the "I Ching" philosophy, based on the use of humanistic method, metaphysics method and method of harmony and unity. Life is both the starting point and the end result. He discusses Chinese metaphysics in the concept of universe, man and life, from the combination of the ontology and value, confirms ontological significance of life and status.Elaborate of Dong-mei Fang's life ontology philosophy:Dong-meiFang thinks that the traditional Chinese metaphysics is both transcendent and immanent, both reality and idealism.Original Confucian philosophy and original Taoist philosophy can best embody the traditional Chinese metaphysics. For Confucianism, he focused on (Confucian) "Classic of History" tradition and "I Ching" tradition. For the Taoist, he use metaphysics method to expand the philosophy of Tao, respectively,from the ontology of Tao, the use of Tao, the property of Tao and the sign of Tao in four areas. For Zhuangzi philosophy, he focuses on the free spirit in "A Happy Excursion" and the system of essential relativity in "On Leveling All Things".Significance of Dong-mei Fang's life ontology philosophy:The establishment of Dong-mei Fang's life ontology philosophy is a great and creative breakthrough of content and form in the traditional philosophy. His life ontology philosophy is an important aspect of modern Neo-Confucian reconstruction efforts.In short, Dong-mei Fang's life ontology philosophy as the turning point in modern Chinese philosophy has profound modern meaning and world meaning.
