An Analysis Of The Female Consciousness From Guan Hanqing's Drama

In the China's history of drama ,the Zaju of the Yuan Dynasty is the most brilliant chapter.Guan Hanqing as a important member in the team of drama-writer ,people always pay more attention to his wokers . So many articles are studying in Guan Hanqing's plays , but a most of these articles just discuss one libretto or one kind of character . This paper analyzes the female characters in his plays a more comprehensive, according to the different of identity, divided into five categories: her mother-in-law, women in brothel,women in boudoir , maidservant and female widow. In the specific image of women in the analysis of his works,we can feel that these women have distinctive character and can let a person look mesmerizing .How is the creation of his opportunity and talent, make one of the Chinese ancient literary works of women glare again?I will from four aspects to explain why Guan Hanqing can created so mang female images and have the profound influence :the creative atmospherein Dadu, the change of relationship between scholars and prostitutes ,his quality in literature and his self conscious in drama creation .Lenin said:"judging one's merits of history, not according to the people have or not provide something these just are required from modern world, but according to their than their predecessors provides new things."From this perspective, Guan Hanqing is a great man . He not only to create many different personality and these female images have outstanding thought, but also his progressive consciousness in female sex and his great humanism care of the female. Later generations of writers inherit and develop his consciousness . His main advantages of female consciousness in four aspects: First is that: ignored the concept"the woman has not ability and wisdom is a morality people", and described a group of women who had wisdom; Second, he make a breakthrough in the concept of"following one man all her life",created a woman who had remarried named Tan Jier; Third, breaken"a woman only takes charge of something indoor", depicted the number of women who had ideas, assertive and had independent action ; Four, the declaration of love , the woman began to awake in love consciousness . His humanistic concern ,from the ending of women can felt significantly.Although Guan Hanqing have achievement in the shaping of female image ,his dramas also received a lot of praise, but because the history and his personal limitations, his plays exist many shortcomings and regret.
