The Study On Function Words In The Lao Tzu

"Lao Tzu "was one of the famous classical book of Chinese ancient Taoist,it brought huge and important influence for the formation and development of Chinese traditional culture, known as " the King of all books."There were hundreds of versions had spreaded from mouth to mouth in many versions, such as earlier age Guodian bamboo "Lao Tzu" differs from the Mawangdui silk book "Lao Tzu" A and B, so much incomplete can no longer be seen from "Lao Tzu" lexical features. Therefore, we use the modern Vulgata "LaoTzu" as our researched object. The main idea of this paper is to do exhaustive investigation on Vulgata ."Lao Tzu" which has appeared a total of 92 function word, and occured 961times. Statisticsal frequency and characteristics, and based on the distribution, role and characteristics of semantic grammar. The "Lao Tzu" appears in an empty word for each of exhaustive description, and thus reveal the "Lao Tzu" in the function word features.This dissertation can be divided into five chapters. To be specific, there are totally thirty-nine adverbs under consideration in chapter One. On the whole, those adverbs can be distributed into six categories, which are Adverbs of Scope, Adverb of Degree, the Time and Frequency Adverbs, the Modal Adverb, Relative Adverbs and the Negative Adverbs. Through a detailed description and statistics, we can sum up the adverb frequency, distribution features as well as the grammatical function of adverbs in"Lao Tzu."One chapter Two, we studied Auxiliary words. There are totally three structural particle (zhi, zhe, suo) in"Lao Tzu". Through detailed description of its structural and grammatical features , we can sum up the frequency Auxiliary words , distribution features as well as the grammatical function of Auxiliary words in"Lao Tzu."Eleven prepositions are under review in chapter Three. By analysis of the functions and meanings of each preposition, we can get the frequency prepositions , distribution features as well as the grammatical function of prepositions in"Lao Tzu."In chapter Four, twenty conjunctions have been studied. Through detailed description of each conjunction, we can summarize the frequency conjunctions, distribution features as well as the grammatical function of conjunctions in"Lao Tzu."There are eighteen Exclamations in chapter Five, which are described by where they located. Additionally, two prefixes, two suffixes as well as two onomatopoeias are classified among exclamations. Through their use condition, function of each exclamations, we can summarize the frequency exclamations, distribution features as well as the grammatical function of exclamations in"Lao Tzu."...
