An Elementary Study On Danxia Landform And Its Tourism Development In Gansu Province

Danxia Landform, a kind of important scenic landforms, has its unique function in shape-making and scenery-constructing. Many relevant theories and methods can be used to study the tourism development of Danxia landform. Some are the "Tourism Circle Development" theory and "Pole-Axis Development" theory. Some are ecological and sociological theories such as landscape ecology theory and tourism symbolism theory, as well as the popular sustainable development theory. Each of them has its own advantages in practice. The sequences and focues of the exploitation of tourism resources in less developed areas and developed ones should be differentiated. The corresponding exploitation mode should be adopted to get the best result and efficiency. In practical operations, the application of new techniques will not only quicken the steps of basic research, but also makes applied research full of greater vitality and practical significance. For example, GIS can be used in the general investigation, research and assessment of tourism resources of Danxia landform, the analytical technique of RMP in the design of tourism products and TDIS modes in creating tourism destination image. By now in Gansu Province, there are more than 80 locations of Danxia landforms, some of which have become well-known scenic tourism areas such as Mount Maiji, Mount Lianfeng, Mount Jifeng and so on. Gansu Province has had many cultural resources, which endows Danxia landforms with rich cultural connotations. "Danxia Makes Buddle. Buddle Enriches Danxia". The ancient "Silk road" has become "Gallery of Art" and "Corridor of Danxia". The tourism exploitation of Danxia landforms bears a far-reaching significance.According to the local conditions, the principles and plan of landscape division of Danxia landforms in Gansu Province are put forward in this paper. And it uses AHP to make assessment on the tourism exploitation potentialities of the 46 key sceneries of Danxia landforms in the planned seven large tourism areas, and makes the sequences of exploitation. Using relevant theories and methods this paper also deeply discusses such questions as the integral layout, the function division, image creations as well as plan-making of the tourism products of Gansu Province. It establish the frame system which is made up of "One center, Three Circles, Seven Functional Areas, Nine Tourism Lines" and remakes the total tourism image of Gansu Province. All these provide theoretical and practical study for the healthy and sustainable development of tourism in Gansu Province.
