Since the China's entry of WTO, the research into business competition has been a concerned problem. The market competition in CDMA of China United Telecommunications Corp. is such an epitome. The scientific analysis of reasons and competition strategies and tactics will be a great help to the top and basic-level managers.The article is divided into four parts. The first part mainly analyses the background of competition, present situation and challenge in the market, and puts forward the problems. The second one analyses the reasons, results and basic ways of modern business competition in detail based on the relative theories at home and abroad. It points out that China Unicom must acquire the whole idea of competition in CDMA market. Meanwhile, it makes a further research into the critical factors. The third one supplies a set of strategic framework for China Unicom. The last one makes related assured tactics for strategy of China Unicom. It can be used for a reference for the top managers and junior marketers.In accordance with the trend of the times and management science, the article is to provide a reference for the daily management of Chinese telecommunication industry. Anyway, they must be verified by the practice.
