Analysis And Design Of Enterprise Knowledge Management System

Theoretical research of knowledge management (KM) began from 1980s and reached the studying climax abroad by year of 1995. The concept of KM was introduced into China in 1998 and got extensive attention. Then KM became one hotspot in the management research field. Knowledge Management System (KMS) is an important direction of KM research field. Firstly the enterprises that practice KM focus their interests on KMS. Then many management research academicians did a lot of deep research work about KMS theory and methods. At the same time, many software vendors have supplied their KMS solutions. But generally speaking, researches and practice of KMS are still in the preliminary stage and have some problems. For example, both KMS researchers and practicers have ignored the social factors in the process of KMS building, such as organization structure, enterprise culture and invigorative mechanism, but put so many emphases on information technologies. Systematical theories and methods are absent in constructing, analyzing and designing of enterprise KMS.For above reasons, this thesis embeds ideas of systems engineering into KMS and defines KM and KMS after researching many relevant theoretical literatures. Then analyzes the process of KM and makes out the difference and relationship between KMS and the conventional Management Information System (MIS). According to above research, the thesis brings forward the route for establishing a KMS and expatiates the process of how to layout, analyze and design the enterprise KMS. On the base of the programming and analysis, the thesis puts forward the main architecture of KMS, which is consist of two basic sub-system, such as management sub-system and technology sub-system. And then analyzes and designs the two sub-systems respectively. Finally, the thesis applies the above study on H Company, builds the architecture of HKMS on the foundation of the active system of H Company, so as to supply reference to our Chinese enterprises that want to implement KM strategy.The thesis integrates systematical idea into KMS and takes both the technology and non-technology factors into account, so it's schematism and pertinency can supply useful references to the KMS building process of our Chinese enterprises...
