Analysis And Control Of The Influential Factors On Project Schedule Management In Design Stage

Over the past decades, the technology of schedule control had had more systematic analysis and control model in world, but the study of design stage has been ignored. Engineering design stage is the first stage of engineering projects, so the schedule and quality control in design stage is important to the schedule and quality of the whole engineering project. Because the old management thoughts and operation models is traditional in China, a lot of managers have not thought much of the schedule control in design stage, and most of the researches have not concerned with analysis and control of influential factor on project schedule management in design stage. So it is important to pay more attention to this field. The Design Branch's network plan is a subsystem of Bz25-1 project's network planning system, which is a multistage one, in Offshore Oil Engineering Co. LTD. The thesis qualitatively and quantitatively analyses the key process and critical path of the subsystem with network planning and FTA, in order to find the critical factor. Furthermore, the thesis also analyses the relationship between one factor and others. The professional quality and behavior of human resource is the most important influential factor on project schedule management in design stage based on the analysis above. In the role of project organization and company, furthermore, some suggestions was put forward in the thesis, in order to help Design Branch to control the schedule, improve the project management and competitiveness, especially international competitiveness.
