A Study On Management For Information Project

With the arising of project management, it has been applied in every part of business administration more and more; with the rapid development of information technology, especially in database and internet\extranet\intranet,many companies heighten theirs management level through information system. When information system being built, project management is used in it. Because information system is different from other project, such as it depends more on people that using the system than the system itself, and people's requirement for the system is being changed quickly, information system has its own specific properties.On the base of analysis the situation of information project management, this article describes the specific properties of information project, such as quantited aim being ignored, requirement being changed quickly, influenced much by human resource, software products being different, and information level of companies being different too. Then this article describes the methods of management for information project including the structure of the organization, the model of communication in it, the controlling model for its aim, the controlling model for requirement, and the methods during its enabling, planning, executing, controlling and finishing phase.In enabling phase, the aim of the project should be kept up with the aim of company's strategy and the aim of information strategy; organization of the project should be built up; duty of each person in the organization should be determined; style of communicating should be defined. In planning phase, plan should be decomposed into minimum items, and each item has its person that responsible for it and has its time limit. In executing phase, document should be well kept to record the whole procedure of the project and to guarantee the system running normally later; scheme of the project should be made to guarantee the quality of the project. In controlling phase, the most important thing is changing controlling and quality controlling. Requirements should be balanced among professional departments. Only through it, the scope of the project would not be expanded unlimitedly. As for quality controlling, by contrasting with the aim of project, the scheme and the procedure of the project can be adjusted. In finishing phase, the scheme of how to finish and check the project must be made. Then the project can be checked and accepted gradually. The aim of finishing process is not ending up the project but supervise the work be finished as soon as it should be done. At last, this article describes the situation that the information project management is applied in sales distribution project of Taiji group. Though the management methods, that is to say, "keep calm while enabling, decompose while planning, specific while doing, strength while controlling, and make solid foundation while finishing", the sales distribution project of Tai ji group has been built up successfully. And it has been chosen as an excellent project in multiplication plan by Information Bureau of our country. Although there are some weak points in the managing procedure of this project, it establishes contact with the method of information project management and the project itself, and it makes a success to this project. At the same time, this project makes a supply for the information management by way of practice.
