A Study On Social Adaptability Of The Floating Population In Shanghai Outer Suburbs

As one of the fastest growing regions in china, every year Shanghai attracts a large number of floating populations into the city throughout the whole country. At the same time, with the continuous development of shanghai, outer urban has gradually become the development of hot-spot areas in recent years. Floating population gather into the outer urban with increase rate .Floating population gathered in the specific region, On the impact of the inflow area, not only reflected the impact of the labor market, employment system, the social services and the social welfare system, but also reflected in the regional stability and regional social security. On the other side, the mail cause of the impact-floating population, how to adapt to the local social life as quickly as possible, and get the better self-development. At the same time they make greater contribution to the inflow region. At last, both of the floating population and inflow region get a win-win position. Therefore, studying the social adaptability of the floating population in the outer urban is not only to concerns the floating population, but also to attention the society's harmonious development of the inflow area. In recent years, as the development footgear of the outer urban of Shanghai, Songjiang District has been another concentration area of the floating population. With such a typical region as a case study, it not only can thorough research the question of the floating population's social adaptability in outer urban of Shanghai, but also provide the experience on the same issue in the same type of regional.The paper takes the Songjiang District as the study case. The study starts with the actuality of the social adaptability, gradually explores in great depth, at last finds out the policy proposals which is adapts to the floating population in the outer urban. The paper is divided into six parts:Part I : this part mainly introduces the review, the purpose, the significance, the methods and the theoretical basis of the study of the floating population's social adaptability. And it descriptions the basic situation of the specifically sample survey.Part II: this part mainly analyzes the basic situations and the status of the floating population of Songjiang district. Meanwhile, this part detailed analysis the basic situations of the survey, providing the basis for the below.Part III: this part is based on the statistical survey, introducing the level of the floating population's social adaptability in current Songjiang District. The paper divided into three levels to discuss the social adaptability of the status quo in Songjiang District - the economic level, the community level and the psychological level. Through anglicizing the three levels of the floating population's social adaptability, sums-up the comprehensive evaluation system which is adapts to the actual situation of the floating population's social adaptability in outer urban of Shanghai. It can provide the probability that can see about the floating population's social ductility of outer urban in the future.Part IV: this part mainly analyses the two modes of social adaptation of floating population - the mode is changing their own life style to adapt to the inflow area; the other is reconstruction the rural community in the inflow area in the outer urban of Shanghai. And it further explores the reasons of floating population choosing the different mode to adapt to the inflow area.Part V: this part mainly analyses the obstacles factors in floating population's social adaptive capacity. There are many obstacles in floating population adapting to social life of the outer urban of Shanghai. In addition to the limitations of floating population own, the obstacles factors include system policies, social environment and so on.Part VI: this part mainly discusses the policy proposals that can strengthen the floating population's social adaptability in the outer urban. In order to improving the social adaptability of the floating population in the outer urban of Shanghai, various government departments should be cooperate together to improve the social adaptability of floating population in outer urban of Shanghai from improving the economic environment, human environment and the obstruction factors of the floating population to perfect the floating population's living environment.
