Job satisfaction is a land of feelings that workers are satisfied with job facets or not, according to certain assessment standards. Job satisfaction is important to us because it is closely related to job performance and workers' physical and mental health. Studying senior middle school teacher's job satisfaction not only can expand the range of job satisfaction research, enrich the achievements in the study of school management psychology, but also helps educational administrators make clear and definite assessment indexes of senior middle school teacher's job satisfaction, improve the validity of school administration.Based on the review of and comment on the concepts and theories of job satisfaction, job satisfaction assessment scales and the current research situations about the teacher job satisfaction, the paper made a tentative study on assessment index and situation of senior middle school teacher's job satisfaction in Henan Province, according to the regionalism and timeliness of job satisfaction. In writing this paper, the author designed a Teacher Job Satisfaction Inventory, which had been proved to be of good reliability and validity. The main results are as follows: 1.There are eight kinds of assessment indexes of senior middle school teacher's job satisfaction: self-actualization and development, school condition, leadership and administration, social support, job intensity, colleague, teaching activity and treatment 2.The senior middle school teachers hi Henan Province are some satisfied with self-actualization and development, school condition, colleague and teaching activity but some dissatisfied with social support, job intensity and treatment 3.Female teachers are more satisfied with school condition, job intensity and teaching activity than male teachers. There are evident differences on the levels of satisfaction among teachers who teach different subjects and classes. Key senior middle school teachers have higher levels of satisfaction than ordinary senior middle school teachersin all of the assessment indexes but job intensity. There are significant differences on the levels of treatment satisfaction among teachers who have different professional titles. No significant differences are found among lengths of teaching.According to the research results, ten pieces of advice on improving the levels of senior middle school teacher's job satisfaction were presented.
