Mr. Ye Shengtao was a famous contemporary literature, educationalist and expert of Chinese of our country. As a doyen who had been engaging in Chinese educating and researching for more than 70 years, Mr. Ye Shengtao left earthling abundant works of Chinese literature. During the long period of the educational theory research and practice. Ye Shengtao seriousely concluded and absorbed the advanced educational theories of ancient China' s and foreign famous educationalists. Furthermore, he also made criticism on conventional education theories and innovated them frequently, besides that he also developed the thoughts of the former educationalists. Mr. Ye not only had his own deep understanding and unique contribution, but also expressed a kind of significant originality and audacious creative consciousness. As a result, an educational thoughts system was formed in a special and creative way. Since then Mr. Ye' s Chinese educating thoughts affected China' s Chinese education for almost one century, and it will still work actively in the 21st century. This paper will systematically focus on the epoch background of the origin of Mr. Ye' s Chinese educating thoughts first, and then it will expatiates his various unique understandings on the property of Chinese subject, the targets and tasks of Chinese teaching, compiling of the teaching materials, teachers' knowledge qualification and culture and the development of creative consciousness; Thirdly, the paper will analyze the theoretical specialities of Mr. Ye' s Chinese educating thoughts and make an analysis of it' s historical limitation; Finally, we' 11 argue about the elicitation and referential meaning of Ye' s Chinese educating thoughts' influence on present Chinese teaching reform.Firstly, Ye' s Chinese educating thoughts originated from the transitional stage when the ancient China' s Chinese education inclined to end and the modern Chinese education germinated. Under the influence of the democracy of " May 4th" and scientific thoughts, Ye assimilated the western advanced educational achievements actively, he not only stuck, to give up the outdated but also innovated the conventional Chineseeducation. Furthermore, due to his more than 70 year' s experience which he worked as a teacher, literature inditer, editor and publisher and a leader of education, he developed a more clear-headed and profound understanding than other educationalists about the problems which were involved in Chinese education. After experiencing the three stages, i. e germination- basic formation-development and maturity, Ye Shengtao gradually formed his profound and unique Chinese educating thoughts.Secondly, Ye' s Chinese educating thoughts mainly contains the following aspects. The first one is " means argumentation"- the view of Chinese property, i. e Chinese is a kind of means, which is indispensable in daily use. The second is "application theory" - objective view of Chinese, i. e it is considered that Chinese education' s fundamental target and value is "to cultivate such kind of common civilian who can use the nation language to deal with life; The third is"scientific" -teaching material view of Chinese . Ye thought that "scientific" is the most important factor in editing Chinese teaching material. Chinese teaching material is nothing but examples, keys and evidence, whose purpose is "drawing inferences about other cases from one in stance; the fourth is"adept in teaching "-view on teachers. He considered that teachers should be adept in teaching and understand the goal of Chinese education, besides that Mr. Ye also claimed that teaching should be replaced by instructing. In order to help students develop habit of choosing words and improve their ability. It' s also claimed that teachers should try their best to improve their knowledge and culture by investing more continuously; the last one is "innovation" -the thought of education creativity.
