In the late years,basing on foreign educators' fruit,Chinese educators also research into the theory of inquiry teaching.They have made some achievement in theory.However,they are just at the initial stage of practice.To most teachers,inquiry teaching is a totally new thing.If we want to employ it in real class,we need to answer the basic questions for them,such as "What is inquiry teaching?" , "What are the roles of teachers?" , "Which subject is suitable for it?" , "What are the difficulties?" and "How to solve them?" The following essay tries to answer those questions.lt bases its opinions on one-year teaching practice. I combined some methods in the research,such as para-experiment and empirical generalization.At first,it makes some comments on the implication,characteristics and the procedure of the inquiry teaching.Then it puts forward that inquiry teaching imitates the studying method of scientific research.Teachers are directors,promoters and creaters.At last the essay points out some difficulties we may face in real teaching practice,such as the evaluation in inquiry teaching,choosing teaching materials,arranging teaching time.lt also gives some advice on how to overcome the difficulties.
