Music curriculum standards are not only the guidebook of the music teaching, a basis of writing teaching materials, evaluation and examination, but also a basis of management and evaluation of curriculum in our country. With the new century starting, 《Music curriculum standards of the compulsory education ( experimental draft) 》( below brief name 《standards 》) which brought with enormous opportunity and challenge to the reformation and development of the music education sets out. How to put 《standards 》into teaching practice is a important problem that each teacher should analyze and think of. Therefore, we should do not lose the opportunity to investigate implementation of 《standards 》and to study and discover existing problem, to generalize the result in theory. This is an important work that we face in current music curriculum reformation. This thesis commences from the review of the process of music curriculum standards( or syllabus) in the recent hundred years of primary and junior high school, concluding the outstanding characteristics of 《Music Curriculum Standards of the compulsory education 》compared with the advanced 《music Teaching syllabus of the compulsory education》. We use the method of question, interviewing and observing etc. to investigate and understand concrete implementation situation of music curriculum standards in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, including the uses of music teachers of 《standards 》, feels of students in implementation of《standards 》. Also this text concluded the variety of music curriculum standards implementation in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia from teaching methods, studying ways, evaluating curriculum etc., concluded the existing drawbacks, and gave suggestion of further development. It also outlooks foreground of curriculum reformation. The aim is to perfect music curriculum standards to guide the music teaching availably. Therefore, investigation and research on implementation o《fMusic curriculum standards of the compulsory education 》is of great importance to conclude experience and definite direction of current music education reformation.
