Research On Construction Of Contemporary College Students Media Literacy

In traditional society, the basic quality of college students includes political quality, moral quality, intellectual quality, skills quality, physical quality, psychological quality, etc.In information times, media has become the most important way to gain knowledge. It brings profound impact to both society and individual, either positively or negatively. Media have been integrated into modern life, it's impossible for people to ignore the impact of media. In the face of the large amount of media, to be its masters or to be its slaves is a question. Everybody in modern society is involved in the tide of the information times. How to deal with this trend successfully, how to make rational use of media and how to rein media become essential quality for the citizens of modern society. As a group of higher knowledge level and future builders of the motherland, it's even more important for young college students to acquire the quality.The goal of media literacy education is to train college students to understand correctly and share constructively mass media resources. They can be trained to identify media transmission content and produce media products in order to make full use of media resources to improve themselves, participate in social development, supervise and animadvert on the media, and become current independent media citizens by media literacy education.In the writing process of this paper, author searches lots of literatures to learn history, practice and research trends of media literacy education. Based on investigation and research, author believes current college students are lack of media literacy so that we should develop media literacy education as soon as possible. There are there reasons to responsible for it. Firstly, this is urgent requirements of development of society. Secondly, this is necessary requirements of healthy growth of college students. Thirdly, this is urgent requirements of education reformation of universities. Based on above reasons, author presents a number of advices to perfect the theory and practice of media literacy education from university, society, media and college students.As a cross-research field, media literacy education has got considerable achievement in its history of 70 years. However, the research and practice on this topic has just begun in China, we believe it will be a bright future for media literacy education if universities, society, media can cooperate and college students strength their self-development.
