Nowadays, in the age of globalization and increased competition ,theonly thing we should do is to face it, so that to join in it .Being positivedoesn't mean taking away our individuality, nor accept the westernculture completely without our own culture. The age of globalizationshould be a mixed culture with all different kinds of cultures.Being thecore of Asian culture ,chinese national culture should play an importantrole in the international cultures,and also should make a contributionto the international cultures.The young generation are the future of our country ,who should havethe duty of constructing and protecting the country, also grow into thebackbone of the construction of our country.But what we worry about isthat the young generation have grown up under the influence of the westernculture from childhood,so that they don't agree to the cultural identityof national culture.It does harm to the full development of the teenagersand the construction of our country.National culture is the chinesespiritual home,especially the teenagers.If we lose it,we will lose ourlofty moral statue.No matter how much the disadvantages it may have,weshould teach our teenagers to face and accept it willingly. What we shoulddo is to admit we are chinese ,and to develop or even create our ownculture ,not just underestimate our own capabilities.It is no doubt thatthe distillate of wisdom will be good to the full development of thestudents and also to the improvement of students' abilities. Secondly,Itwill also make a contribution to help the kids understand the culturalidentity and develop their characters and moral standards.Thirdly,thestudents can gain phycological and intellectual high ground by studyingit,besides,it will help to cultivate a love of art.In order to increase efficiency of teaching chinese ,we should developthe cultural identity.The unique chinese characters are the main qualityof our nation,whenever we see it ,we can guess the meaning, and it requiresthinking in terms of images,it is simple but meaningful,lovely,it isdifferent from the western languages which contain logic and skill.Thefour faults ----"lack. slowness.poorness.waste" are censured a lot allthe time,the main reason is that we don't put emphasis on the nationalcharacteristics.In other words,we regard it as a kind of facility,not akind of culture.The charaters ,aims and the urgency of increasing the efficiency dogood to developing the students's cultural identity. There are abundantdistillate of wisdom,which is made up of great national culture andexcellent foreign cultures of the time. Above all ,all of the above dogood to development of students' cultural identity.When we carry out this plan ,we should change our old fallaciousviews,and fully understand the course of teaching chinese itself is a kindof culture,is the formation of it ,it is not only comes down from ancienttimes ,but also create culture .Besides it,we should held the principleof critical analysis spirit and creative spirit towards chinese nationalculture , chinese contemparory culture and western cultures. All we shoulddo is to learn what is good and throw away what is trash.We should treatthe new culture as a kind of developing one,and learn a new strategy ofthe aesthetic faculties and dialogue.The following is some advice the author gives us to develop thecultural identity :Firstly,Introducing some great poems and essays whichare about the famous people' love for their national cultures.Secondly,let them enjoy some chinese charaters ,images ,works about beautifulscenery;Thirdly,begin with such topics of drawing ,music ,architectureand so on;Fourthly,let students do some extensive reading , lastly,askthem to practise more.
