Modern distance education is important direction of the international education development since 1980s, it is a primary approach to realize information education and education internationalization. Modern distance education arouses a profound revolution in educational model and educational conception, it relies the advanced technologies and instruments, expand education to each corner of the society through the computer network. It is not restricted by time, space and personnel. The learner can study acting on one's own in proper time and place.Now, however, the distance education based on Web has some shortcoming in several aspects, such as: notion orientation, network system and alternation etc, especially in alternation aspect, the space-time separate of modern distance education has learners could not satisfy their need in emotion communion, so emotion is absent. These absences badly influence learner's cognitive learning and mental health. Therefore, compensating emotion has most important significance for ensuring instructional quality and improving instructional effect of modern distance education.Affective computing is a hotspot problem in information science, cognition science and psychology studies, it bases on human being's emotion and affection, studies emotion mechanism, affective signal capturing, affective mode recognizing, emotion modeling and comprehending, emotion synthesizing and expressing, emotion transferring and alternating, and so on. Its final aim is endowing computer with the affective ability similarly with human beings.The paper takes Tianjin key subject tackling of key scientific and technical problems "the Theoretical and Technological Research of Affective Computing in the Harmonious Human-Computer Interaction System" as the background. We learn and investigate the theory and technology of affective computing, construct "the distance education system model based on modeling artificial emotion".The model relies on the technologies of modeling artificial emotion, recognizing affection, and showing expression. The virtual teacher can catch students' emotional information and can compute information in statistic way. According to the result as stimulation, system can adjust teaching strategies at real time, and show the virtual teacher's emotional response. The main work is to model affective emotion. This model can simulate the affective interactive function of human's brain, use perceptive recognizant stimulation as input, simulate emotional response and output affective emotion.
