The Situation Analyses And Solution Research On The Basketball Referees' Team Of Jiangxi Province

The proficiency of Jiangxi basketball referee team stagnates in recent years, and certain gaps exist between average referees' professional capability and comprehensive quality and those of excellent referees.This study investigates and analyzes, based on the framework of system theory, the current situation of referees in Jiangxi through three dimensions—long-term goal system, guarantee system and personnel training system—through approaches of documentary reference, questionnaire, scholar interviewing and statistics analysis. With reference to foreign colleges' experience in developing referees and consideration of the reality in Jiangxi province, the paper advances certain strategies to promote a constant, stable and healthy development in referee management.The study reveals certain problems in referee management in that province, including: lacking of panoramic understanding of the long-term goal, insufficient attention attached by the in-charges, lower level of proficiency and lower pays, fierce contradiction between the fulltime and part-time jobs, unreasonable system of referee management and training, imperfect system of contests and short-sighted view in referee training. The study suggests six corresponding strategies: strengthening the publication so as to draw officials' attention and create a desirable public opinion background; refreshing ideas and establishing a multi-targeted system of college referee management; boosting referees' enthusiasm by spiritual and material excitation ; perfecting the system of contest and training referees through contests; improving college referees' level of professional studies thought efficient utilization of the resources in colleges.The leaders of basketball association shall show their support, understanding and respect to referee and offer spiritual and material aids to young referees, so as to stimulate them for better performance.
