A Research On Economic Effects Of Higher Education In Sichuan Province

As a main problem of educational economics, there are great significances in researching economic effects of education. By analyzing and evaluating economic effects in all kinds and levels of schools, it would be helpful for us to understand the strategic position of education, to discover problems during the development of our education, to support the institutional reform in our country's education and provide theoretical bases for making proper policy in investments and developments. Higher education is an important part of education. It has huge effects on the economic and social development. So it would be very necessary to research the economic effects of higher education.Per pupil expenditure and economic contribution are the two most important indexes in the economic effects of higher education, so this paper mainly analyses the two topics: calculating per pupil expenditure in higher education and calculating economic contribution of higher education.When calculating per pupil expenditure in higher education, which is the main index for the investment of higher education, this paper attends to find the method of calculating per pupil expenditure in universities and colleges on basis of basic standard for schooling. After analyzing the foreign and domestic studies and confirming the cost's framework, such a kind of method is given.
