| With the permanent localization of the China-ASEAN Expo to Nanning and the establishment of China-ASEAN Free-trade Zone, the special advantages of localization and close cultural ties of Guangxi to ASEAN nations will be better promoted. Guangxi will have more cooperation with ASEAN nations on education, which presents a rare historical opportunity for the education of Guangxi international students. To know the living state of the ASEAN students , we have to begin with their school life, and study their world of school life. By means of the investigation and description of the feature of their school life, we can delineate the uniqueness of their behavior norms, values and languages, understand and explain their world of life in hope that it can be paid attention to.Focusing upon international students'state of adaptation of school life and the problems existing in the education and management to them, a series of interviews and questionnaires are carried out, These study, among more than 300 international students from nations of ASEAN in 5 universities all over Guangxi on different perspectives of their school life such as environment, everyday life, language barrier, social interaction, academic adaptation and so on, so as to explore the main factors affecting the adjustment process of international students in China socially and individually. This thesis is just the first fruits of the study.This thesis consists of five parts. The first part"The origin of the research of overseas students from nations of ASEAN"shows us the reasons, theoretical background and the methodology of the study; The second part"The analysis of the present state of overseas students from nations of ASEAN"makes a quantity statistics on the characteristics of the constitutions of these students, analyses its reasons, and investigates the aims and gains of their studying abroad by means of questionnaires and interviews in depth. The third part"The adjustment study of overseas students from nations of ASEAN"presents and analyses the state of those students'adjustment in school life in form of interviews and questionnaires. The fourth part, which is named"The research on social interaction of overseas students from nations of ASEAN"analyses the overseas students'circle of contacts and their participation of social cultural activities. The fifth part"The gains of overseas students'research"further refines the general conclusion and introspection on this study and proposes some questions needing further research.The general conclusion of the thesis is:The aim of studying abroad has an obvious influence on overseas students'school life. That is to say, students with definite aims can adjust the school life very well while students without definite aims cannot do that.Generally speaking, these overseas students from the nations of ASEAN have some difficulties in their adjustment of interpersonal communication. The main factors influencing this are: language barrier, the difference between interests and favors, lack of mutual understanding and communication, and inert psychology. Individual differences also have some influence on their adjustment of school life. Such differences including their gender, the time of abroad study, the level of Chinese and so on influence their adjustment in certain degree.Based on the investigation and the research, the author proposes some suggestions to solve the problems of overseas students'adjustment of the school life. They are as follows: reform the way of the management of overseas students, exercise"directional"management; develop policy consulting activities with multi forms and establish network of information exchange; enhance the social support of overseas students from nations of ASEAN; strengthen the training of the cross-cultural competence of the people engaged in the service and management of overseas students from nations of ASEAN"...
