The general engneering colleges has the responsibility to develop local industry, promote their competition, provide technical and human resouce, reduce the economic potentiality difference, enlarge the resource distribution. Moveover, the general engneering colleges are the main armies for high eduation. It contiunously provide high quality engneers for local industry and trade enterprise, and plays an important role in educating. Nowadays, education for innovative person is the focus in the domestic and foreign countries. And the problem on how to educate innovative person in general engneering colleges so as to service for the local industry, and strenthen the competition of colleges is urgently need to be resolved.The thesis takes the view of a superintendent, and analysed the characteristics in educating innovative person in general engneering colleges. And it points out that there exists 7 problems such as insufficiency in funds, weak in humanities and society discipline, weakness ability of science reaserch, teacher. troop is not strong, project teaching is not connected closely with enerprise, pattern of talents raising is sole. Meanwhile, the candidant gives some suggestions on how to take their advantages, how to overcome their barrier, and how to educate innovative person.The originality of the thesis is to analyse the characteristic of educating innovative person in general engineering colleges, and suggest that creat cultural environment which involved with campus and region, take advantage of industry-study-research cooperation to innovate form of practicing, build a unique teacher troop, and so on.
