Nowdays,the mathematical education in the Secondary Vocational Schools is worrying.In order to train the high quality vocational technical staff and respond to the new round curriculum reform,the mathematical teaching in the Secondary Vocational Schools is reforming,too.The"Guidance and Discovery Method"teaching is developed from the basis of Discovery Learning,which emphasizes "Guidance and Discovery"and lays stress on the students' domination in learning and teachers' leading role in teaching.This can mobilize the students positive learning,which can cultivate the students'creative consciousness.Some teachers in our country have done this experimental research on" Guidance and Discovery Method"to a certain degress.Based on learning the other teachers' experience,the writer has been trying to do the experimental research on "Guidance and Discovery Method"in the Secondary Vocational School.Class 8 was chosen as the experimental class for this method, while class 7 was the control class,which adopted the traditional teaching.After the experiment,the grades between these two classes were contrasted;at the same time the writer had a questionnaire about the students' emotion and attitude towards mathematics for these two classes.After a terms' experiment,combining the average marks with standard deviation,the marks in the experimental class are greatly improved.Most of the students in the experimental class have enjoyed the happiness of the success,they have confidence in learning mathematics well and the students mterest,their learning method and thinking model have been greatly improved.Hence we can see that the Guidance and Discovery Method's teaching is one of the effective teaching methods for the Secondary vocational students.
