The issue of students with learning difficulties generally exists in the English teaching in middle schools,and the English teachers are puzzled by it. In recent years,more and more scholars and experts have given attentions to this issue. So many educationists and scholars have made lots of researches in the field of learning disability from every angle and thus have come to many important conclusions.As a sub一problem of LDs,the problem of English LDs gradually attracts the attention of the experts and scholars in the educational circle. However,lots of researches on LDs mainly focuses on the cognitive aspect,while little is focused on affective factors,which is one of the most important parts of non-intelligence factors.What's more,the research lacks evidences and proofs.Demonstrated by language teaching and learning studies,self-confidence has a lot to do with language acquisition or language learning and the cultivation of self-confidence becomes an important part of affection education. If cultivated well,the students'self-confidence in English teaching and learning can improve our language teaching. Now, with the development of Psychology more and more researchers give their attention to the affection factors in English teaching and learning. However,few people have done much on the cultivation of the students'self-confidence of English LDs and the junior English teaching and learning.Therefore,such correlational study becomes the topic for study in this paper. The paper is based on the related research both at home and abroad,guided by the theory of pedagogy and educational psychology, the issue this paper deals with is the cause of junior middle school LDs'lacking enough self-confidence in English learning. It is carefully analyzed and workable methods or measures are introduced to help cultivate LDs'self-confidence. And the paper does some experiments on some students to prove the possibility of the proposed measures taken to cultivate LDs'self-confidence.Taken altogether, the research and practice of this thesis attempts to prove that adopting effective method of affective cultivation are of great importance in cultivation of LDs'self-confidence in Junior Middle School upgraded their English achievement ,promoted English LDs into students of all-round development.
