After the policy of reform and opening up was carried out, the great improvement of material goods, the shift of economic system as well as the various trends of thoughts and values, all brought fresh air into Chinese society. Influenced by the collision among the different thoughts, people's built-in lifestyle and cultural concepts have changed a lot, and all sorts of conflicts in people's life are just the reflections of various concepts. What the western modern civilization has brought about is not only the abundant material wealth, but also some different conception contradicting to our traditional culture. In a multiple-culture society, people can willingly choose their life style and mode of production, and worship the democracy and freedom that are usually advocated by western countries. It is no doubt that the multiple-culture plays a positive role in the innovation of people's conception. However, with the further globalization, multiple-culture has become the irresistible current. In the face of western countries'dominant position in the process of globalization, and the identity crisis for modern people brought about by different social conditions, how should we do? Facing all sorts of cultural identity crises the rapid change arose, what kind of cultural identity conception should be set up? Regarding the establishment of the individual's cultural identity, what kind of responsibility the moral education in schools should take? The practice of the moral education will encounter all kinds of possible value conflicts and puzzlement in the individual's growth period, so naturally the cultivation of individual's cultural identity becomes the focus of the moral education in schools. This thesis tries to discuss the problem.The first part brings about the question–why does the multiple-culture society need the cultural identity? Firstly, from two aspects-socially macroscopic and personally microscopic, it elaborates on the great influence the cultural identity has on the society and individual in a multiple-culture background. Secondly, the paper discusses the impact which the multiple-culture makes on the traditional Chinese culture, and then it focuses on the lack of Chinese cultural identity and the indications of the current cultural identity crisis, so as to stress the great significance of the correct cultural identity. Mainly, this part expounds that the cultural identity plays an important role in our country.In the second part, the thesis analyzes this problem systematically and comprehensively–what kind of cultural identity is favorable to our country? Firstly, it reviews the multiple-culture background in our country, including the raising of multiple cultures and some current analyses of it. Secondly, it explains two different views of cultural identity–"identity of the fact"and"identity of constructing". In the end, it declares that our current society should establish the right conception of cultural identity. From the following three aspects the paper analyzes the conception of cultural identity, namely the attitudes towards the origin culture, the attitudes towards the different cultures and the ways of cultural identity. And it not only deals with the self-positive attitudes towards our original culture, but also tries to interpret the relationship between the original and different cultures in terms of the reaction between the universality and the particularity, and the eternal return-the ways of cultural identity.In the third part, the paper tries to look closely at the moral education of schools in our country from the perspective of cultural identity, and reviews the moral education of schools in terms of moral objectives, contents and evaluation, then points out that there is a series of problems in the schools. For these problems, some discusses are organized from the following aspects: moral philosophy, objective, content and position of teachers.
