Self-monitoring what is monitor and control of a subject and object for monitor and control is the heat of meta-cognition. Having the self-monitoring ability is a mature sign of the person's intelligence development. It is essential to solve problems individually, communicate mutually and adapt to society. Now it is one of the "top topics" both in psychology and education.The self-monitoring ability in"word problem"problem solving is a new subject wroth considering. This research hopes to benefit theory and experience both at home and abroad through using for reference. According to the characteristics of the Mathematics subject, combining with the thinking process in"word problem"problem solving, we attempt to measure and evaluate the middle school students' self-monitoring ability in"word problem"problem solving so as to call attention to the cultivating of it and offer a reference for the reform in the mathematics instruction as well. Offer ways and suggestions of how to develop students' self-monitoring ability. Meanwhile, it has important meanings for improving teacher's teaching result, developing people's intelligence, improving the success rate of the problem.To achieve the aim, I have consulted many literatures concerned and made an analysis on the related questionnaires and scales from home and abroad .After analyzing the data of the formal questionnaire using SPSS, I find that it has a high reliability and validity. The results of the statistics indicate that the middle school students'"word problem"in"word problem"problem solving is lower. Self-monitoring experience is essential to solve problem succeed .The impact on students' Self-monitoring ability of the sex is not very great important .Learning motivation is influence to self-monitoring ability on some intensity. Students' Self-monitoring ability has no validity in some aspects. There is influence to self-monitoring ability in Educational methods.
