Research Purpose: By carrying on this research, the researchers have explored the morphological characteristics and body composition of excellent male hockey players, analyzed the correlation of morphological characteristics and body composition and their influence on motor function. Also researchers examined the functions of players'lower limbs to know the function conditions of male hockey players so as to find out the reasons for hockey players'sport injuries, then tried their best to find scientific proofs for choosing players in the sport of hockey and provide theoretical foundations for injury reasons and injury preventing of hockey players.Research Methods: The research objects are the 22 Chinese National Men's hockey players preparing for 2008's Beijing Olympics. The researchers have used tridimensional human body scanner (made in France) and scanned the whole body of players by the principle of four probe-head laser scanning. In 10 seconds, information of 150 light spots all over the body is collected and the data of every body part's latitude, cross section and length are then measured through computer coupling imagery. The researchers also used resistance-style body composition analyzer (made in Korea) and measured hockey players'body composition by index change method of double-tunnel resistance-restraint. All the data was imputed into a computer for auto-analyses.And the researchers used ISOMED2000 constant-velocity measuring system (made in Germany) to measure players'developing conditions of knee joints'flexors and extensors. The measuring speeds are 60o/second and 240°/second. At last the researchers used the muscle function analyzer NES-01S20 (function impediment analyzer of lower limbs) to examine the functions of players'lower limbs.Research Conclusions: 1,the morphological characteristics of Chinese National Men's hockey players: muscular body, broad shoulders, thin waist, reversed triangle body shape, strong forearms, strong lower limbs, the measurements of left ankle joints, forearms and wrist joints are all smaller than the right side ones.2,The body composition characteristics of Chinese National Men's hockey players: they have lower body fat percentages than common people, but the percentages are significantly higher than the proximal body fat percentage of excellent male hockey players of the world (coxa circumference and hip circumference are the two important morphological indicators of judging body fatness).3,The main morphological indicators that affect the motor functions of Chinese National Men's hockey players are: Body Mass Index (BMI), coxa circumference and hip circumference.4,Among Chinese National Men's hockey players, there are 60.9% who have knee joint injuries; and left knee joint injuries are more popular than right sides. Knee joint injury belongs to minor impediments of the function impediments, and the impediment scales are between 10°-20°. 5,Among Chinese National Men's hockey players, the peak moment of force of extensor muscles are all higher than flexors, and the peak moment of force ratios of flexor to extensor are all higher than right ones. In general, among Chinese National Men's hockey players, the peak moment of force ratios of flexor to extensor are too low and the compatibilities of flexor muscles and extensor muscles are inferior. So emphasis should be put on the development of muscles of flexor and extensor. It is a common phenomenon that the muscle development between the left side and the right side is uneven.
