Social withdrawal children are a group neglected by teachers and partners in kindergartens. Withdrawal action is of question. The studies at home and abroad find that all kinds of social withdrawal children are wrong with social adaptation in degree. However, there has been no case study about social withdrawal children's adaptation at present.Based on researches about social withdrawal at home and abroad, I take a nearly two-month follow-up study on four children by means of observation, questionnaires and interviews. I have collected and recorded information of 150,000 words, testing them with four scales, then analysing, inducing and putting them in order, respectively revealed the four children's adaptations in daily life in following six aspects:Self-help,Locomotion,Occupation,Communitcation, Socialization, Self-direction. By analyzing and comparing, I explored adaptation of the four cases and revealed reasons why they are in good or bad state. I have summed up general characteristics of their adaptation: 1 .Three different types of social withdrawal children are all wrong with social adaptation in certain degree. Solitary-active behavior case C adapt better, Solitary-passive behavior case B quiet ones good and Reticence behavior case A worse. 2.The children's questions are mainly fixed in company and socialization. They act worse than normal children in company and socialization.; their levels in homework and self-management are lower but there is little gap with ordinary children; there is obvious difference among cases. 3.Reticence behavior cases have lower level of social adaptation, especially in sports, company and socialization. In situation of company ,they often do nothing, act alone with obvious motivation to avoid conflicts, and are neglected even completely forgotten by their company, have poor ability in move.4. Solitary-passive behavior cases have following characteristics: the general adaptation for the society in middle level, six indicators for evaluation flat; more interest in objects than in human; avoid contact, self-isolated and admitted badly; strong curiosity.5. Solitary-active behavior cases have characteristics as followings: adapt social well, the six indicators for evaluation are higher than or the same with other two withdrawal cases; communicate much and make more conflicts, resulting in complex fellowship; have certain influence in socialization; have less action as act alone, looking by and do nothing;6. Case D (ordinary child) has higher level of social adaptation and behave better. In order to understand above characteristics, I refer to related documents of Bandura's social learning theory, Piaget's cognitive development theory and Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory of the environment and analyse the reasons of the four children' s social adaptation. Finally , I put forward respective advice to improve the social withdrawal of the children: 1.action training for Case A(Reticence behavior);2.emotion training for Case B(Solitary-passive behavior);3.cognitive training for Case C(Solitary-active behavior).
