Nowadays, with the development of society, two major different trends of women's childbearing ages have gradually appeared in the U.S.—early childbearing and delayed childbearing. On the one hand, due to the higher educational attainments, more and more women have the opportunity to participate in the workplace, so contradictions between family and career have intensified. Besides, domestic violence and high costs of childbearing also slow down the tendency of birth giving. On the other hand, the number of out-of-wedlock birth and teenage mothers has increased rapidly nowadays. Early childbearing is mainly caused by the increasing rate of cohabitation and the influence of sexual revolution. In addition, neglect of school education in America as well as the higher social assistance and welfare also make early childbearing becomes a reality. The impact of the two different childbearing ages on American social development and children's growth is everlasting. Children in early childbearing families always suffer from poor school performances, poverty, emotional hurt and psychological disturbance. Besides, children of these families are likely to involve more crimes than their peers, and they are also prone to repeat the cycle of teenage pregnancy in their lives. Similarly, Children out of delayed childbearing families have to suffer from generation gap and endure heavy burden for the elderly care when they have grown up. In addition, delayed childbearing also brings a serious social problem—aging, and the U.S. government has to pay a great money cost in maintaining these people's lives.
