The scoring of basketball matches is very significant, for scores determine the outcome of a match. In the 25th Asian Basketball Championship, Chinese Men's Basketball's average score of the last eight matches in the second stage of group match is 79.1, falling behind Iran and Jordan. The deficiency of scoring has prevented the development of Chinese Men's Basketball. With the rise of Asian teams, Asian men's basketball has quietly changed in pattern; the dominant position of Chinese team is gradually all gone. To regain Asian champion, it is necessary to deeply study on the scoring ability of Chinese Men's Basketball in the 25th Asian Basketball Championship. With the methods of literature review, expert interviews, mathematical statistics and video observation, the thesis chooses Chinese Men's Basketball's last eight matches in second stage of group match as the research object in the 25th Asian Basketball Championship, making comparative analysis of points per game and scoring ability in each position among Iran, Jordan, Lebanon and China; furthering analyzing the scoring ability of Chinese Men's Basketball from score distribution, score area and score form. The following are conclusions drawn from the research:1. The Chinese basketball lags behind Iran team and Jordan team in scores with no significant difference. The main factor affecting Chinese team's score is relatively few shots; In the distribution of three-point shots, we too much depend on Wang Zhizhi and Yi Jianlian those two insiders, deficient in scores of outside players. Besides, there is a greater gap of scoring ability between starting players and substitute players in Chinese Men's Basketball.2. As to the scoring ability in every position, our centers are strong but with insignificant advantage; the differences of forwards'scoring between China and Lebanon are not significant, but compared with Iron and Jordan, our team has an edge with insignificant advantage. The guards'scoring ability is grave lack with a significant difference when comparing with Iran and Jordan.3. In the shooting area, our shots are mainly concentrated on the nearby basket field in restricted area and the high post outside of the three-point line, but there're a few shots in two-point field goal area outside of restricted area. Forwards'shots mainly occur outside of three-point line and under the basket, with fewer shots in mid-distant shooting area. Centers'shooting area is dispersive, and shootings in the restricted area are mainly under the basket. What's more, the shootings of our guard over centralize outside of three-point line, fewer shootings occurring in mid-close area.4. In the shooting form, Chinese team usually catch the ball then directly shots, first dribble then suddenly stop to jump shot and standing shot. The shooting manner of forwards is single, characterizing as catching the ball then direct shot and standing shot. While the centre has a comprehensive shooting form with catching the ball then direct shot as primary shooting method; the guard also has a single shooting form mainly catching the ball then direct shot, and there're fewer dribbles to penetrate and shoot.
