With the further advance in the new curriculum reform, "High School Curriculum Standard Textbook ? Chinese Literature" in the country become more widely used which passed the first examination of the National Committee for Appraisal of Primary and Secondary Textbooks in 2004. The exercises of Chinese textbooks play an important part in the whole teaching of students accumulate knowledge of languages, training, language skills, and improve their language literacy. Moreover, a complete and reasonable exercise system can provide teachers with feedback on student learning so that they can make timely adjustments in order to individualize teaching methods to achieve the teaching goals better. A variety of textbook exercises languages is also a concrete manifestation of educational philosophies of different periods. The exercise system in high school language textbooks based on the set of curriculum standards has made a significant change.In the practical teaching, how should teachers use the teaching materials scientifically and effectively so that the exercise system in the materials reflects the learning outcomes, facilitate teaching improvement, and improve the language proficiency of students? I believe that teachers should have a grasp on the overall structure of the exercise design and flexibly deal with the exercise system according to students'learning situations. Using the exercises in "High School Curriculum Standard Textbook ? Chinese Literature" as the research object, the author first states the concepts of the exercise system and the research significance, followed by the analysis and summary of the design characteristics of the textbook exercises combined with the relevant curriculum and teaching theories. At the same time, its advantages and disadvantages are explained with my own point of view. Again, the author mainly analyzes the current teaching situation of the textbook exercise design through the questionnaires and field interviews and other methods and work on the analysis and reflection of the current situation of teaching and learning. Finally, the thesis offers some specific improvements and recommendations for teachers based on the practical issues of the current teaching situation.
