As one of the import physiological parameters of human being, blood pressure can reflect the status of human cardiovascular function. It is also an important indicator of disease prevention and diagnosis clinically. Therefore, the measurement of blood pressure, especially continuous non-invasive ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, has a great significance in clinic. As the pulse wave signal contains diverse physiological and pathological information about cardiovascular system, the changes of waveform characteristic on pulse wave are important bases for evaluating the status of blood pressure and other physiological and pathological information in cardiovascular system. The radial artery pulse waves were obtained in this thesis. And the relationship between the Gaussian function parameters of fitting wave and arterial blood pressure were analyzed. The main work of this thesis is following:Firstly, in order to collect the pulse wave signal conveniently, a pulse wave signal collecting system is designed. Using this system, it’s convenient to realize the collection of pulse wave signal, processing and display in real-time.Then, for obtaining the evaluation criteria based on the area characteristic of the pulse image, data processing and analysis were carried out in this thesis, including pulse wave Gaussian fitting, feature point recognition, pulse graph area feature extraction and evaluation factor calculation of the measurement and fitting pulse wave. Through these analyses, came to the conclusion that the relative error of the evaluation factor can be used as the evaluation criteria. The curve of the relative error with the increase of the number of Gauss’s functions was plotted. Feasibility of the criteria was verified by comparing the change tendency of the curve and the normalized root mean square error. Finally, the general applicability of the evaluation criterion was verified by experiments. According to the criterion single-period pulse waveform was decomposed into Gaussian waveforms, analyzed the correlation between the Gaussian function parameters of fitting wave and blood pressure, and established the arterial blood pressure equation.
