| Objective:To utilize Qingdao diabetes risk score form as a prediction tool for metabolic syndrome(MS) and to provide scientific evidence for screening method or intervening measure on metabolic syndrome. Methods:A total of 3298 subjects aged 35 ~ 74 years were randomly selected and surveyed as research object in 2006. Qingdao diabetes risk score was used for independent variable; incidence of metabolic syndrome as outcome variable was used for drawing ROC Curve and for calculating sensitivity and specificity; then the optimal cut-off value was evaluated by Youden’ s index. A total of 4203 subjects aged 35~74years were randomly selected and surveyed as validated object in 2009. Qingdao diabetes risk score and waist to height ratio was used for drawing ROC Curve and for calculating sensitivity and specificity; then compared the effect of Qingdao diabetes risk score, waist to height ratio and FINDRISC for screening metabolic syndrome according to the corresponding index. Results:The optimal cut-off value of Qingdao diabetes risk score for metabolic syndrome to research object was 14.50. The area under the curve(AUC) was 0.77(95%CI: 0.76-0.79;Sensitivity: 75.7%;Specificity: 65.9%).The optimal cut-off value among male was 14.50.The AUC was 0.79(95%CI: 0.76-0.81;Sensitivity: 79.0%;Specificity: 65.4%). The optimal cut-off value among female was 15.50.The AUC was 0.76(95%CI: 0.74-0.78;Sensitivity: 73.3%; Specificity: 67.0%).The optimal cut-off value of Qingdao diabetes risk score for metabolic syndrome to validated object was 14.50. The area under the curve(AUC) was 0.76(95%CI: 0.75-0.78; Sensitivity: 73.4%; Specificity: 70.5%). The optimal cut-off value among male was 14.50. The AUC was 0.79(95%CI: 0.76-0.81; Sensitivity:73.3%; Specificity: 74.4%). The optimal cut-off value among female was 15.50. The AUC was 0.75(95%CI: 0.73-0.77; Sensitivity: 73.2%; Specificity: 68.1%).The AUC of waist to height ratio for screening metabolic syndrome to validated object was0.72(95%CI: 0.70-0.74) and significantly lower than Qingdao diabetes risk score. The AUC among male was 0.75(95% CI: 0.73-0.78);The AUC among female was 0.70(95%CI: 0.68-0.72) and significantly lower than Qingdao diabetes risk score. The AUC of FINDRISC for screening metabolic syndrome to validated object was 0.74(95% CI:0.72-0.76); The AUC among male was 0.73(95%CI: 0.70-0.75) and significantly lower than Qingdao diabetes risk score; The AUC among female was 0.75(95% CI: 0.73-0.77).Conclusion: The accuracy of screening MS of Qingdao diabetes risk score is higher,The optimal cutoff value is 14.5, with 14.5 of men and 15.5 of women.Qingdao diabetes score possesses easy-to-handle characteristics and is easily accepted by community residents. |
