A Study On The Musical Characteristics And Performance Techniques Of Accordion Accordion Works "Concert Suite"

Franck Angelis is a pioneering and innovative contemporary French accordion composer. He created a large number of works in different style with free bass accordion. Many of his works are selected in the international competition. The" Concert Suite" is one of his representative works,conducting in-depth analyses on the music characteristics and performance skills of "Concert Suite", aims at revealing the artistic profound connotation works, demonstrating the unique charm of the works to the people.The thesis is divided into four chapters. The introduction mainly introduced the general situation of the composers and his works explaining the purpose of writing this paper. The first chapter is about the composer and his works.This chapter starts from the development and characteristics of modern French accordion music, and then, following a brief introduction of the composer, as well as the creating background, laying the groundwork for the specific research on his works.The second chapter is on the characteristics of music works by analyzing in depth. The musical form structure in works as a clue, with the music language,analysis of each movement in harmony, tonality, melody rhythm, is discussed in detail, showing the music characteristics of each movement, using the special timbre and the use of the three line of the notation, all these do further research on summarizing various music styles, which help us deepen understanding of the creation concept of modern accordion music.The third chapter, analyzed the technical difficulties from players’perspective. From the use of the tips of the fingers, to grasping the rhythm, and processing performance skills, it introduced the analysis deeply and broadly in detail. Hope that the majority of the accordion players can improve understanding and perform works to better control the Angelis’Accordion works.The fourth chapter, the author focuses on describing the enlightenment of "Concert Suite" to modern Chinese accordion music. Chinese accordion art has been seen a new progress and development. It summarized the works’ unique music language and explored its artistic value. The works of Angelis is leading the development of modern accordion music to the new art realm.
