On The Teaching Mode Of Private Chinese Training Organization

With the rapid development of China’s national economy, a large number of foreigners have come to China, and their needs of learning Chinese accelerate the development of Chinese training market. In Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other cities which attract lots of foreigners, privately-operated Chinese training institutions are springing up. As an indispensable part of Chinese training industry, they’re charged with the important mission to spread Chinese too.After years of development, some excellent privately-operated Chinese training institutions have accumulated rich experience in teaching and have formed ceitain teaching models. The author chose Shanghai Imandarin training school ("Imandarin" for short) as a typical case study, analysed the characteristics of the teaching model in there dimensions---Theory Bases, Instructional Designs and Class Operations according to the author’s teaching experience and results from surveys,and then used real cases to illustrate.Through the research, we think that:(1) The theory bases of Imandarin are the language view of "functionalism" and the language learning view of "humanism" and "constructivism".(2) Imandarin offers tailor-made courses according to students’learning needs and characteristics, and focuses on the cultivation of listening and speaking skills; Imandarin’s teaching is function-based, students’urgent need will be meeted first; Chinese culture is spreaded by cultural experience activities.(3) Imandarin attaches great importance to the construction and using of a "real situation"; Interactive teaching method is often used in class; Teachers and Students maintain a relationship between friends.After summarising the teaching model of Imandarin, the author analyzed the problems existing in Imandarin’s teaching. Meanwhile, suggestions may help Imandarin to improve were given.
