With the situation of employment is becoming more and more serious, theemployment stress gradually becomes one of the main mental stress to today’sChinese university students, as a special group in university, the graduates who areimpoverished need pay more attention to their job-hunting mental problem.But thereare just a few of researches on stress coping methods which choses impoverishedgraduates as their subject,and these researches are focus on the employment stress,therelationship between stress and general coping styles or relationship with mentalhealth,do not care about the coping style of employment stress.In this research,the first part was compile the employment stress coping stylequestionnaire for graduates.The second part was analysis the current status ofimpoverished graduates’ employment stress coping style, and explore the relationshipabout the three variables:coping style of employment stress,career decision-makingself-efficacy and social support.The aim is to provide a reference for the systematicstudy of poverty issues of university graduates employment stress and the guidance ofemployment.The subjects were graduates come from universities or colleges inYunnan Province,the first part has579subjects,the second part surveyed800graduates,Ultimately determined381impoverished graduates as the subjects.Theresults indicated:(1)The employment stress coping style questionnaire for graduates include sevenfactors:Seeking social support, self-promotion, collecting information,adjustingemployment cognition, adjusting self-mentality, diverting attention, escaping andcomplaining. The employment stress coping style questionnaire for graduates meetthe requirements of psychometric,it can be used as a measurement tool to test thecoping style of graduates.(2)In the impoverished graduates’ coping style of employment stress, Seekingsocial support had significant differences on the two demographic variables:the onlychild and major;Self-promotion had significant differences on gender and studentcadre;Collecting information had significant differences on poverty, the only child,student cadre, major;Adjusting employment cognition and adjusting self-mentalityhad significant differences on gender; And diverting attention had significantdifferences on major; Escaping and complaining had significant differences ongender and major; While on the origin there did not have any significant differencesin the seven factors. (3)The mean scores of impoverished graduates’ career decision-makingself-efficacy and social support were significantly higher than the respective valuetheory. Impoverished and non-impoverished graduates not have significant differenceon the career decision-making self-efficacy; there had significant differences in socialsupport between impoverished and non-impoverished graduates and impoverishedgraduates was significantly lower than non-impoverished graduates.(4)In the career decision-making self-efficacy of the impoverishedgraduates,there had significant differences on the only child, student cadre;there wasnot show significant differences on poverty, gender and origin.On the social supportof the impoverished graduates,there not have significant differences in the fivedemographic variables wich used in this research.(5)In the coping style of impoverished graduates,the five factors:seeking socialsupport, self-promotion, collecting information, adjusting employment cognition anddiverting attention had significant correlations with career decision-makingself-efficacy and social support. Impoverished graduates’ social support hadsignificant positive prediction on the career decision-making self-efficacy and copingstyle of employment stress,the career decision-making self-efficacy had significantpositive prediction on coping style of employment stress.Meanwhile social supporthad direct effect on career decision-making self-efficacy and coping style ofemployment stress,career decision-making self-efficacy had direct effect on copingstyle of employment stress,social support served as intermediary variable between thecareer decision-making self-efficacy and coping style of employment stress.
