The Application Of The Theory And Method Of Literacy Teaching In Primary Schools In Foreign Language Teaching

With the great development of Chinese economy and culture, more and morepeople have paid more attention on Chinese language all over the world. TeachingChinese as a foreign language(TCFL) also has made a great progress. As a carrier ofChinese, Chinese characters is an essential part of teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage and it is also the foundation of getting a good command of Chinese andfurther understanding of Chinese culture. But we are not satisfied with the result ofteaching Chinese as a foreign language. In some degree, it has seriously affected theChinese learners’ zeal for Chinese and the development of teaching Chinese as aforeign language.This thesis starts with the present situation of TCFL and characters teaching tothe foreigners. Then analyzes the problems and reasons of characters teaching to theforeigners. After discussing the characteristics of Chinese characters and the specialrelationship between Chinese characters and Chinese language, we realize theimportance of characters teaching to the foreigners. We must intensify charactersteaching to the foreigners because of its importance and particularities. There aresome differences and similarities between characters teaching to the foreigners andcharacters teaching to Chinese children after comparative studies. We find someteaching ideas and methods about characters teaching to Chinese children can be usedin characters teaching to the foreigners. In the end, we get some inspiration fromcharacters teaching to Chinese children and provide some suggestions on teachingmode, teaching strategies and textbook compilation.
