| Our paper select Peking University Press published of New Step– –Intensive Reading Course of Intermediate Chinese for research object. Firstly we point out that New Step has some problems in the words of English translation and explanation, summarized as meaning problem, speech problem, and pragmatic problem. Then we analyzed these English translation and explanation one by one; Secondly we design a survey for the teachers and students who use New Step, and discover the English translation and explanation of vocabulary have an impact on teaching and learning; Next we analysis the survey results, point out the impact of English translation and explanation on teachers and students. Finally, according to the survey results we propose a teaching strategy and an acquisition measures, also propose some principles of English translation and explanation. |
