Chinese painting,which is similar to other cultural legacy, has its own traditional art forms of heritage and innovation. The reason why Chinese painting has been able to bloom in the forest of world art is that it hasits own national character. Chinese culture is broad and profound and has thousands years’ brilliant history. Chinese painting art in the development process of the entire Chinese nation is handed down from generation to generation, embodies the aesthetic value of the Chinese nation. "Shaped by the ancients, modern people word meaning" is the ancient artist has been pursuing creative ideas.Momently, Chinese painting is in the wide range of age, the concept of aesthetics has changed the scope and purport, and seems to have encountered development bottlenecks. How to break this dilemma ? The way is to reshape the glory of our generations imperative. Exploring predecessors, learning traditional painting wonders for promoting Chinese painting’sthe previous brilliant have some positive effects.The object of the study is about Chen Shaomei,a traditional painter of Beijing and Tianjin.His achievements and statusin the history of modern Chinese painting cannot be underestimated. The main structure of the article consists of five parts: In the first part, on the basis of existing research, Chen Shaomei’s personal activity time is the main line, from a macro perspective summing up his life, and from the microscopic point sketching out the relationbetween background of his live and its painting. In the second part, fromseveral aspects such as the local culture, ancient efficient innovation, imitation Master Road, nature outside of his right, the formation mechanism of his art of painting is explored. In the third part, Chen Shaomei’sseveral works of art are selected and appreciated and we can find that he devoted his life to reviving the "Northern School" paintings, whichwas likely being consigned to limbo.He hung open in succession, while strongly abandon its drawbacks, and embellished with gorgeous and clear tone, and "the northern" paintings are with a new face to the world in the end.According to his works ‘ characteristics, the painting stylehas been separated into gestation period and the development period. In the fourth part, by comparison with a traditional painterin the same period, the similarity and difference between them are explored. In the fifth part Chen Shaomei status and influence on the School of Beijing and Tianjin are summed up.Today, Chen Shaomei had been dead six years. He begged in China’s internal painting survival, development and success through a lot of copying and made unremitting pursuit, is thought-provoking and worthy of our heritage, and research. This paper is not only to respectChen Shaomei of painting, but is in some cases to retrospectand prospecttheBeijing-TianjinSchool of the twentieth century, which provides a valuable reference for the study of Chinese painting.
