The second piano sonata Op.36is one of the most fabulous masterwork composed by Rachmaninoff in1913, since it has been bestowed a great construction and particular style. In certain aspects which include the musical form; and the texture and the harmony motion and characters of rhythms,all those have been infiltrated with the passion that have been from Classical and romantic collision. From the terms of the musical form, Rachmaninoff chose the sonata form of classical period with in the rendered, development and reproduction of the typical structure to accomplish this composition. Meanwhile the body of this work plumped with smooth romantic melody and gorgeous multi-voiced texture by composer. In some perspectives, modernist musical harmonies practices also be utilized to embellish the second piano sonata. Death and the call bell is still often echoed in the melody, the creation of coherent structure as its unique benchmark.With the existing literature on the creation of the second piano sonata which accomplished in a mature period, this paper will develop theoretical research on music texts, performance and musical structure analysis. The independent special creative approach and style fusion techniques will be analyzed with in the creation of large-scale works of Rachmaninoff. At the same time we should be able to understand its artistic features and spiritual connotation of musical works. Discussion from the perspective of the author’s own experience how exercise works to grasp the required technical skills in performance will be unfolded, and strive to help practitioners in recital can grasp a bit better understanding of this composition.
