In recent years, with the growing number of foreign students coming to Nanjing for study, the number of foreign students learning Chinese in Nanjing is also increasing. Therefore it is particularly important for us to investigate thoroughly for the condition of foreign learning adaptation in Nanjing universities. The writer self-designs Chinese Learning Adaptability Questionnaires for Foreign Students after referring to relevant research production. Through the way of quantitative research and qualitative research, this Master’s thesis is to take the 238 foreign students from the 3 universities (Nanjing Normal University, Hohai University and China Pharmaceutical University) in Nanjing as investigation objects, for the sake of studying the overall situation of foreign students’Chinese learning adaptation.First of all, the investigation is carried out in 3 aspects (including 9 factors)by the means of questionnaires:school environment, classroom environment and learners themselves via sending to the questionnaires.Then the results’reliability and validity are tested by the SPSS software, afterwards the invalid items are eliminated, according to date analysis results, which will be made questionnaires more scientifically and the correlation analysis can prove the correlation among the 9 factors. Secondly, through the analysis results, the Master’s thesis concludes general characteristics and specific features differences based on genders, nationalities, school and school stages. Thirdly, the Master’s thesis summarize two features of foreign students learning adaptation layer and subjectivity, these two features are proved by earlier stage date analysis and interview results. Finally, the Master’s thesis offers some relevant suggestions for foreign students’administration of Nanjing colleges and universities and the learners themselves based on the research.
