| Vietnam is the south neighbor of China,and there is a close relationship betweenthem from ancient times to the present.After Dinh Bo Linh was canonized asCochin Prince by the first emperor of song dynasty,China and Vietnam sent missionsto each other in successive dynasties,maintaining a long-term and stablesuzerain-vassal state relationship.Though there are wars and conflicts between themduring that time,peace and friendship is the mainstream. Relations between SongDynasty and Vietnam are not only one of the most important external relations ofSong Dynasty but also a major stage of the whole history of the ancientChina-Vietnam relations.Vietnam included Cochin in the north and Champa in thesouth during the Song Dynasty.Dominated by Vassal relations,they sent missions toSong Dynasty frequently,which greatly closed up the commercial trade and culturalexchange between them.This article systematically discussed the commercial tradeand cultural exchange between China-Vietnam in Song Dynasty as an overall studywith four parts.The whole period of Song Dynasty was under the threat of Minority regime ofLiao,Jin, the Western Xia regime and the Mongolia regime that Song Dynasty had torender tribute to them.While on the other hand,it took the peaceful and friendlydiplomatic policy dealing with Southeast Asian countries in order to reduce themilitary pressure,which was also beneficial to both sides.Faced with independentCochin,Song Dynasty admitted its independence and canonized its monarch.Thoughtwo large scale wars happened between them,they were resolved quickly and keptpeace with each other in the most time.Against this background,the two sidesdeveloped extensive trade relations included tribute trade,frontier trade,harborshipping department trade and extensive and in-depth cultural interaction at the sametime.,which greatly enriched our two people’s lives and promoted the culturaldiversification.In economic and cultural exchanges,both sides achieved commondevelopment and learned from each other,all this is of great significance.Economic and cultural exchanges between Song Dynasty and Vietnam has great significance not only to the economic and cultural development in the two countriesbut also is favorable to cooperation and win-win and providing a good reference andexperience for today’s development. |
