The Tang Dynasty is the prosperous period of the development of Chinese Guzheng art. The prosperous situation of Tangzheng is expressed by Tang Dynasty’s Guzheng and poem. Most poets of Tang Dynasty are the participants, listeners and narrators of Zheng Art. And these Zheng Poems contain the Zheng of the Tang Dynasty, the tune of Guzheng, Guzheng players or the history of Guzheng. Research on Guzheng poems in Tang Dynasty will provide valuable historical information and historical materials for the study of Tang Dynasty music history. In this paper, I use the Zheng poem in Tang Dynasty as the research object and according to the research sight of proving each other by poem and history and the research methods to investigate and interpret the art of Guzheng in the Tang Dynasty. The Article discussed from four aspects: First, investigating the forms of Zheng art in Tangzheng poems by the tunes, the Zheng shapes, the playing techniques and the performance forms. Second, investigating the Guzheng players, Guzheng Geisha and poets activities in Tangzheng poems, summarizing the contribution to the development of Guzheng art and then further analyzing the different purports of Guzheng Geisha, Guzheng players and poets’ activities. Third, researching the aesthetic problems of Tangzheng poems mainly from aesthetic object, the emotional theme of Guzheng music and the aesthetic between sadness style and refined and popular concept. Last, monographic study from the systematization and the system of Geisha, the contribution to the poem music of Tang Dynasty and the destination of the Geisha group.This research mainly considers six aspects.In Tangzheng tunes aspect, ‘Bai Zhu’ was popular in Wu’s sacrificial music. It expresses reminiscence of the ancestors and thinking back to the origin of life and ancestries and it also keep the ancient musical information for us.‘Shui Diao’ was initiated in the period of Emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty and it spread in the folk until the period of Northern Song Dynasty. It was mostly played by Guzheng and flute. To the Five Dynasties, ‘Shui Diao’ has become a fixed tune. Moreover, ‘Prelude To Water Melody’ which was popular in Song Dynasty has deeply relationship with ‘Shui Diao’ in Tang Dynasty. ‘Prelude To Water Melody’In the shapes of Guzheng, the Guzheng of Tang Dynasty which is described by Tangzheng Poem has twelve strings or thirteen strings and it is popular with thirteen strings. The arrangement mode of the bridges is like a flying swallow. We played it by plectrums so that the volume and tunes changed a lot.About the players of Guzheng, there are three kinds of players who were described by Tangzheng poem, the Geisha who made a living by playing the Guzheng, the literary who wanted to express his own mind by playing the Guzheng and the lady who wanted to rich her artistic life and improve her artistic accomplishment by playing the Guzheng. However, the Geisha plays the most important role in the inheritance of Tangzheng art.About the activities of the Guzheng music, the Geisha and the poet are the two main group of participating in the activities of the Guzheng music in Tang Dynasty. Because of the differences between social identity and status, there are different attitudes between the Geisha and the poets in Tang Dynasty. The Geisha lives by playing the Guzheng and the poet thinks that it’s a kind of tool to cultivate the mind in daily life. So it has different purposes and skills between them. This is the ancient Chinese music trying to get rid of the previous music system constraints and begin to make public the specific reflection of the art of music.About the aesthetic problems of Guzheng art, the aesthetic objects of Tangzheng poems include three aspects, the instrument, the tune and the environment. There are three kinds of themes just like the parting theme which is among relatives, friends and lovers, the missing theme which causes by leaving and traveling and the emotional expressing which comes from thinking and grasping of life, career, ideal or homeland. Meanwhile, the aesthetic of Guzheng music in Tang Dynasty mainly presents deeply pathos style.On research of the group of Geisha, Tangzheng poems mentions four kinds of Geisha. On one hand, this group not only promotes the development of poems and musical arts in Tang Dynasty but also be the source power of the development of musical aesthetic culture in Tang Dynasty. On the other hand, Geisha is a kind of entertainment for many people because of the traditional concept and the Yueji system. And these Geisha who were described by Tangzheng poems had hard life and miserable destiny.
